News Article: K’ómoks Nation needs housing, plans to add Union Bay lands to reserve
The K’ómoks First Nation wants to add 84 hectares in Union Bay to its reserve lands.
The nation has applied to have three parcels of land it owns designated as reserve land, so it can build more housing for members. The nation purchased the land 11 years ago with plans for economic development but has now changed direction.

Chief Ken Price recently asked the Strathcona Regional District for a letter of support, he says the land addition is a redress for past injustices by the federal government.
