National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21st 2024

On Friday June 21st, K’ómoks First Nation will be presenting National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. We are honoured to be working with Wachiay Friendship Society, Kumugwe Cultural Society, MIKI’SIW Métis Association, and Upper Island Women of Native Ancestry to bring this event to life, celebrating and honouring all Indigenous communities, recognizing our strength, and celebrating our resilience.

We look forward to welcoming the community for knowledge sharing, child and youth activities, food and craft vendors, community tents, environmental walks at the Tsolum River, cultural presentations and live music from acclaimed indigenous artists Ed Peekeekoot, T'simka and Michael Red, Curtis Clearsky and the Constellationz, and Juno Award winner William Prince!

This day is dedicated to strengthening community connections, building cross-cultural awareness and moving forward together.

National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations kick off at 2 pm and run till 9 pm. Stay tuned for vendor and artist updates, performance schedules, parking and traffic details and more.
