K’ómoks First Nation Departments
K’ómoks First Nation departments work diligently to ensure services are available under the nation’s vision and leadership direction.
Housing – Elderplex
The K'ómoks Elderplex is the Nation's first Elder housing project.
Economic Development
The K'ómoks Economic Development Corp (KEDC) is a key economic stakeholder in the Comox Valley. Band owned and operated businesses focus on tourism and natural resources, weaving past and present into a strong economic future for the K'ómoks people.
Guardian Watchmen
The goal of the K’ómoks Guardian Watchmen is to protect and preserve the environment within our Traditional Territory. We are the eyes and ears of the land and sea, thriving to protect everything from the tops of the mountains to the bottom of the oceans, and everything in between.
Lands
The Lands Department is responsible for Land Use Planning and administering the Land Code and related policies, laws and procedures, to regulate the land use of Reserve Lands. We will move forward responsibly, using accountability, transparency, environmental responsibility and K’ómoks culture as the cornerstones of our land management practices.
Social Development
Social Development is an Indigenous Services Program (ISC) delivered by First Nation communities. The program is responsible for Income Assistance, Assisted Living, and social programming that has the well-being of the community in mind. Programs are funded and delivered to on-reserve residents only.
