POSITION: Full-time Housing Coordinator
LOCATION: K’ómoks Administration Building
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
REPORTS TO: Housing and Infrastructure Manager
SALARY RANGE: $24 to $28 hourly rate (based on 35 hours a week)

Are you ready to make a positive impact in the community through housing and infrastructure support? K’ómoks First Nation is looking for a passionate and proactive Housing Coordinator to join our team! In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our community has access to safe and sufficient housing, enabling our members to thrive.
What you’ll do:
- Be the friendly face and main point of contact for all housing inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate schedules, appointments, and projects, ensuring preventative and deferred maintenance tasks are addressed efficiently.
- Draft communications for tenants regarding move-in and move-out processes and support the improvement of inter-departmental procedures.
- Maintain a welcoming front office environment while keeping up-to-date with housing vacancy listings and government funding updates.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and service providers like inspectors and contractors to ensure health and safety standards are met.
- Assist in the creation of housing policies, prepare housing applications, and provide insights through housing-related report statistics.
- Engage with tenants and the wider community to discuss housing issues, fostering open communication and support.
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will be community-centric and thrive in a team environment. You should have strong planning and time management skills, along with the emotional intelligence to build lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as cultural sensitivity and awareness of the First Nations governance landscape in BC.
If you have a diploma or training in housing management or related fields and 2+ years of administrative experience, particularly in an Indigenous community setting, we want to hear from you!
