SALARY RANGE: $19.84-22.97 hourly rate (based on 35 hours a week)

About the Role

As the Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the K’ómoks Administration team. You’ll handle a wide range of office and clerical tasks — from coordinating meetings and taking minutes to setting up community events and troubleshooting office tech. You’ll be the go-to person for making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Keep our office organized with general administrative and clerical support
  • Take accurate and timely minutes for meetings and community events
  • Assist with travel arrangements for Chief & Council and staff
  • Manage calendars, support event setups, and pick up supplies when needed
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues and help set up meeting equipment
  • Support other departments with administrative help as needed
  • Pitch in on ad hoc projects and community-focused initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative spirit
  • Time management superpowers and a sharp eye for detail
  • Comfort working with diverse individuals and community members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with knowledge of First Nations governance and history
  • A passion for community service and teamwork

Education & Experience:

  • A diploma or certificate in office administration is preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative role, ideally in a First Nations or Indigenous setting
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal record check if required
