INVITATION TO NANWAKOLAS EVENT

- 10.30am: Welcome, speeches, and blessings of cultural items
- 12:00pm: lunch
- 1:00pm: launch of xwax’wana
- 1.30pm to 4.30pm: community celebration, opportunity to paddle in xwax’wana, site tours to H’kusam Forest living poles
- Parking will be available
Community members are invited to attend a Nanwakolas event celebrating Indigenous forestry management and culture, to be held at Sayward on Wednesday, August 27th. The day will include options to view living poles in H’kusam Forest, blessing of large cultural cedar logs harvested by We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum and K’ómoks First Nations and the naming of a traditional xwax’wana carved in H’kusam Forest, lunch, and an afternoon of community celebrations, including the launch of the xwax’wana and the opportunity to paddle in it.
